Beyond the Stethoscope: 13 Questions with Dr. Erica Salinas

It’s easy to focus on the basics when evaluating your doctor. Did they go to medical school? Are they in your insurance plan’s network? Do they have a good reputation with patients and the medical community? These questions are an important part of choosing and building a relationship with your physician, but we also believe knowing more about your physician leads to better communication around your healthcare! At Columbia Surgical Associates we want you to have a familiar face behind the stethoscope, it can make all the difference to your quality of care!

Dr. Salinas, her husband Ryan and daughter, Eleanor, live in Columbia. Dr. Salinas grew up in McAllen, Texas which is about 15 minutes north of the Mexico border. She completed medical school at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She did her general surgery residency at the University of Arizona and completed her vascular fellowship at the University of Missouri- Columbia in 2014. Loving the mid-west, she joined the Vascular Division of Columbia Surgical Associates in 2014 as a board certified Vascular Surgeon. She is particularly interested in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid interventions, including carotid stenting, peripheral vascular disease interventions and venous interventions. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family here and in Tucson. She is an avid reader, and would love to be a writer if she had any talent for it. When she has the opportunity, she loves to see shows/musicals/plays with her husband.
