The vascular specialists at Columbia Surgical Associates were among the first in the area to use minimally invasive techniques to repair aneurysms and laser ablation for vein disorders. They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of aneurysms, carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and vein disorders.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the vascular specialists at Columbia Surgical Associates perform 70-80% of their endovascular treatments in-office. In the angiography suite at Columbia Surgical, arterial interventions such as angioplasty and stent placement to treat PAD (blockages in the arteries) are performed. In addition, varicose veins are treated in the Vein Center of Mid-Missouri. The in-office venous suite is used to treat venous disorders, such as varicose veins, with techniques ranging from sclerotherapy to microsurgical techniques to laser interventions.
The remaining 20 percent of the patients treated by the specialists at Columbia Surgical Associates have treatments performed in a hospital setting. These treatments are often major, complex procedures to repair blockages of the carotid artery, repair aneurysms or to clear blockages in legs that cannot be fixed with a balloon or stent and that require a bypass operation.
High Level Patient Satisfaction
Overall, the minimally invasive endovascular techniques that are used to perform vascular treatments have replaced the invasive and painful experiences of 25 years ago. The strides in evaluation and treatment in the last two decades have provided the surgeons with an unexpected gift: It’s the high level of satisfaction that their patients have with the ease and aesthetic outcomes of the treatments available today.
